This was filmed back to back with L'uomo mascherato contro i pirati (1964), but it seems it was not released anywhere until 1972. The two films use many of the same actors (with a few differences), the same costumes and locations, and some of the same footage, but despite being frequently confused as the same film, they are 2 different films with different (though similar) storylines..
